Almost a quarter of the season has already passed and the ladder is taking shape nicely.  With another week containing upsets and close games galore, the ever-elusive 8 seems a long way off for the Port Malmö crowd. Nonetheless, it isn’t about the perfect score, it comes down to beating the man opposite you and, once again, Verngren has done the business and has opened a healthy 4 point cushion at the top. The Duke was STD’s victim this week…The comps cumulative top-scorer, MacBride, occupies second spot after a 6-5 defeat of Chocko, who in turn is languishing in 14th place. Danny Johncock holds third after getting back to winning ways in the battle of the Aussie veterans against Adam.

No-one managed skanky draws with 4’s this week as Boyd, Jimmy, Morten and Parker (finally) all tasted bitter defeat at the hands of  Simmo, Kalle, Oz and Taff respectively. Those wins for captain, coach and, er, Kalle lifted them all in to a large chasing pack on 10 pts.

The only draw of the round saw Wilbur finally break his duck after a 5-5 result against Damo. The two points aren’t enough to lift him from the foot of the table, however. Damo jumps 3 places to 11th.

So, that’s it for this week. Best of luck to all in the next round… except for Dave Verngren, of course.

Hooroo!
