DAFL

This is the main competition for the Port Malmö Maulers. Port Malmö will be looking to consolidate previous successes in the DAFL under the new 12-a-side, expanded competition format. The DAFL Premiership gets underway for Port Malmö on the 20th April.

The DAFL (Danish Australian Football League) is the largest, non-English-speaking Aussie Rules competition in the world. It consists of six teams from Denmark and two from Southern Sweden.

Skåne League (SAFL)

2013 will see a four team competition with players from Port Malmö, the Helsingborg Saints and the Malmö Gaelic Football team playing as teammates. The four teams are; the Malmö-Irish Convicts, the Swedish Gryphons, the 33 years-and-older Fossils, and the Rest of World Exiles. The focus is on player development and making sure everyone gets as much game time as possible which is not always possible in the ever-competitive DAFL. As in previous years, it is a round robin competition with the top two playing off in the Grand Final.

AFL Sweden

There are several Australian Football clubs active in Sweden, spread out right across the country.

And while they play in separate, regional leagues, all clubs come together once a year for the VB Cup, organised by the sport’s national governing body, AFL Sweden.

The major regions of Sweden will also face-off in the 2013 Regional Series. Maulers players will be shining for Skåne Giants.
The Round 1: Malmo 13 April. Round 2: Stockholm 25 May. Round 3: Göteborg 31 August.
